About the event
EcoRock and the proposed Pozzolan Mine in Dalhousie
MTI invites community members to attend an engagement session on the proposed Pozzolan Mine in Dalhousie.
This session is intended to inform the community about the proposed project and provide an opportunity for questions, comments, and discussion. The evening will include a presentation from Eli Larry of MTI to give an overview of the Mi’gmaq Rights Impact Assessment process, and a presentation from EcoRock regarding the proposed Pozzolan Mine.
Why your input is ESSENTIAL:
The information gathered through CCVMs help us assess whether this project may pose any risks to our collective Mi'gmaq rights, including impacts to lands, waters, resources, and how we live and practice our way of life. What you share (knowledge of the area, land use, etc.) plays an important role in how we assess and respond to projects happening in our territory.
These sessions are a key part of how we ensure that any projects happening within our territory are carefully reviewed and do not infringe on our inherent and Aboriginal rights.
Important Information About Session Attendance
Dinner will be served for those in attendance.
These sessions remain a Mi'gmaq-led process, and all information shared will continue to be:
