About the event

Papoqji'jg Wind Project

The Papoqji’jg Wind Project is a proposed 63 MW wind farm in northern New Brunswick that will generate renewable electricity for the provincial power grid. Developed by ABO Energy in partnership with Pabineau First Nation, the project has now been sold to Eolectric, which will build and operate the wind farm.

Why your input is ESSENTIAL:

The information gathered through CCVMs help us assess whether this project may pose any risks to our collective Mi'gmaq rights, including impacts to lands, waters, resources, and how we live and practice our way of life. What you share (knowledge of the area, land use, etc.) plays an important role in how we assess and respond to projects happening in our territory.

These sessions are a key part of how we ensure that any projects happening within our territory are carefully reviewed and do not infringe on our inherent and Aboriginal rights.

Important Information About Session Attendance: Lunch will be provided
