MTI Fisheries Summit

The MTI Fisheries Summit brought together Mi’gmaq leadership, Elders, youth, and fishers from across our communities to strengthen how we care for and govern our fisheries.

We spoke with MTI’s Director of Fisheries, Wendy Narvey and our Fisheries Program and Consultation Coordinator, Melissa Moody about their thoughts on the summit, the importance of fisheries governance, and what they hope to see moving forward.

This gathering created space for shared knowledge, collaboration, and community voices, all supporting Mi’gmaq-led fisheries for today and future generations.
